Dear Members,
For the next event in our very busy schedule, the Society is proud to host Mr. Peter Kay, the Director of Sales for the Peter Michael Winery in California. He will present the latest vintage of wines, including their highly sought after single-vineyard chardonnays, extremely rare pinot noirs and their flagship red Bordeaux blend, Les Pavots.
The Peter Michael Winery needs very little introduction. They have achieved international recognition as a top producer of world-class whites and reds since they began making wines in the mid to late 1980s. It was in 1982 when Sir Peter Michael established the Peter Michael winery on a square mile of rocky volcanic ridges that form the western face of Mount St. Helena in Sonoma County, California. And from the beginning, the wine growing philosophy was modeled on the French tradition infused with a few modern influences: One, the vineyard terroir would be the single most important feature. Two, the wines would be elegant rather than overstated. Three, there would be a hundred-year commitment to the development of a great estate. . Critics have consistently regarded their chardonnays as some of the best American chardonnays produced, in a style rivaling that of burgundy, with its flagship Bordeaux red Les Pavots a critic's darling, with prices to match.
We have paired the wines with the elegant and refined Chinese cuisine of Paradise Pavilion. Part of the Paradise Group of restaurants in Singapore, Paradise Pavilion is a recent creation which fashions a world of fine culinary pleasures in a sophisticated contemporary setting. A house specialty, which is generally regarded as one of the best renditions in Singapore, is the authentic apple wood roasted Peking duck which is artfully crafted by a team of stellar chefs from China to ensure the authenticity of this traditional delight.
