Dear Members
Before everyone leaves for the holidays, we would like to inform members of our event for the month of January. We are pleased to welcome Marchese Leonardo Frescobaldi, the President of Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi to introduce to members the iconic wine Mormoreto, an IGT produced by Castello Nipozzano.
Mormoreto is the single vineyard cru of Castello Nipozzano, from the vineyard that carries the same name. Planted in 1976, the first vintage of Mormoreto was from the 1983 harvest, and since then has been produced only in the most favourable years. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, planted 150 years ago, have, over time, formed an intimate bond with this terroir and now bring out all of its unique qualities. Mormoreto is a wine of great depth, yet opulent and refined, and is a wine which can cellar for many years. For this dinner, we are featuring a vertical of Mormoreto, all from double magnums.
We will be holding this event at the wonderful Italian restaurant, Pietrasanta. Owned and operated by the Massimini brothers, Giuseppe and Chef Loris, Pietrasanta is a relaxing, laid-back place to enjoy Tuscan-inspired dishes that have drawn followers coming back for more. Chef Loris has worked carefully with Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi to prepare an excellent menu that will showcase the best of Mormoreto.
We are thankful to Cellarmaster for bringing this event to the society and to Marchese Leonardo Frescobaldi for giving us the opportunity to taste a vertical of Mormoreto from double magnums.
Members will have priority over guests during the forty-eight (48) hours after the sending out of the email bulletin. Please book early to avoid disappointment as seats are limited to 40 pax.
