Our esteemed member, Seck Wee ( of Cellarmaster Wines) has very kindly afforded the Society the opportunity to host the great wines of La Rioja Alta paired with a special menu from Dempsey Cookhouse this November. And arriving from Spain to present the wines will be Diego Lasheras Dúcar ( Wine Ambassador & Export Area Manager La Rioja Alta )

La Rioja Alta is a premier winery in Spain's Rioja region, renowned for producing elegant, age-worthy wines that masterfully blend long-standing tradition with modern innovation. Founded in 1890 by five families in the town of Haro, the winery has built a global reputation over 130 years for its exceptional Tempranillo-based Gran Reserva wines. La Rioja Alta's approach combines a deep respect for tradition with a commitment to continuous improvement.

The winery prefers their wines in a "classic" style emphasizing that they are always evolving and adapting to improve quality while maintaining the soul of their wines. The winery is the only one in Rioja to produce three Gran Reserva wines. Its most famous labels include Gran Reserva 890 and Gran Reserva 904, named after their founding and merger years.

La Rioja Alta stands as a benchmark for Rioja, creating wines that are celebrated worldwide for their balance, complexity, and elegant expression of Tempranillo.

The Dempsey Cookhouse and Bar in Singapore is the flagship restaurant of world-renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, offering a relaxed yet elegant dining experience with a menu of contemporary, Asian-inspired European fare.
