Sparkle of Lelarge Pugeot
Pollen

Dear Members

In 2018, February is a month for romance and lunar new year celebrations. What better way to it kick off, than with a grower champagne feature - Lelarge Pugeot paired with the cuisine at Pollen. Begin the evening’s epicurean journey to POLLEN with their personalised buggy service from Gardens by the Bay's arrival plaza to the restaurant and bask in spectacular views of the Marina Bay skyline.

Winegrowers since 1780, and grower-producer since 1935, Lelarge Pugeot’s entire 8.7Ha plot in Vrigny is classified as premier cru. The champagnes are organic and biodynamic, and is led by Dominique Lelarge, owner and 7th generation winemaker. Their champagnes have won numerous awards from Guide Hachette, Wine Enthusiast, Sommelier International and Effervescent du Monde, to name a few. It is sometimes known as “Champagne Fit for the Stars” as many of their champagnes have been selected by Michelin-Starred restaurants across the world from L’Assiette Champenoise (3*) in France, Daniel Boulud (2*) in New York, Beige (2*) in Tokyo and Andre (2*) in Singapore.

For the evening, we will sample 6 champagnes from their portfolio, starting with their Brut Tradition to Les Meuniers, there is a high element of Pinot Meunier in their blends. In particular, the Les Meuniers being 100% Meunier, which is rare and makes a unique pairing for the food. 2 representatives from the distributor will introduce the champagnes to us during the evening to complete the experience.

Our menu has been specially designed by Executive Chef Steve Allen at Pollen, where we can be transported into its unique surroundings within the Flower Dome in Gardens by the Bay. An East Sussex native, Steve Allen was recruited as the new executive chef in November 2016. An industry veteran with more than 21 years of cooking and corporate experience under his belt, Chef Allen spent 10 years at Gordon Ramsay’s now-defunct restaurant Claridge’s in London. Inspired by Pollen’s Mediterranean garden setting in the Flower Dome, he inter mingles modern French cuisine with Mediterranean flavours and those of Southeast Asia’s.

Please sign up early for this special evening to avoid disappointment. We will accept reservations via email in the usual manner. Please also note that no cancellations will be entertained within 5 days of the event as we will need to provide final number confirmation to Pollen. I look forward to your company on February 8th.

Warm wishes,

Sharon
President
