The society is pleased to welcome Mr Thierry Usseglio who will, for the first time be introducing to the Society the wines of this renowned Domaine at a dinner featuring the full spectrum of the Domaine's wines, including its flagship wines. Do take this opportunity to learn the secrets of this Domaine direct from its owner and to understand why it is so highly rated year after year. We are grateful to Crystal Wines for making this event possible.
Domaine Pierre Usseglio
In 1931 Francis Usseglio left Italy and went to Chateauneuf du Pape where he got a job working in the vineyards. He purchased his own property in 1948, after the war. Francis' son Pierre inherited his father's property and now the third generation, Pierre's sons Jean-Pierre and Thierry, are in charge of Domaine Pierre Usseglio.
Domaine Pierre Usseglio consists of 55 acres divided into 15 different parcels in Chateauneuf du Pape. Half of the vines are about 60 years old and the rest are about 30 years old. This first class domaine is one of Robert Parker's favourite Southern Rhone estates, as written about in the Wine Advocate and more importantly, evidenced by the consistently high scores for the Domaine's wines, from its basic chateauneuf du pape to its flagships Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée de mon Aïeul and Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve Deux Freres .

Please be reminded that our Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, the 12th March 2011 @ 6:00pm at the Sentosa Golf Club. Your attendance at our AGM will be appreciated and for all of our members who have not renewed your membership yet, please do so immediately as you will NOT be entitled to attend or vote at our AGM if you have not renewed your membership. Further, please be further advice that your membership with the Society will automatically lapse on 31st March 2011 and any renewals after that date will attract a reinstatement fee of $100.00.
