The Burgundy Masterclass with Master of Wine Lisa Perrotti Brown
Kumo Restaurant, Singapore |
|
Dear Members,
The society is proud to announce its first ever burgundy masterclass with master of wine Lisa Perrotti Brown featuring the wines of Domaine Faiveley. Lisa will lead us through an overview of the different communes of burgundy in a tutored tasting, followed by a Japanese kaiseki dinner featuring older vintages of Faiveley wines. Don't miss this opportunity to take a tour through the communes of burgundy and to compare the past and present styles of winemaking for this renowned Domaine.
Domaine Faiveley, established in 1825, is one of Burgundy's largest producers of wine and situated in Nuits- St Georges. Passed down from father to son over seven generations, it owns the largest number of monopoles in Burgundy. Renowned for its supremely clean, elegant and long lived wines, it has extensive holdings in both the Cote de Nuits and in the Cote de Beaune. Erwan Faiveley took over the Domaine recently as one of the youngest directors of a Domaine and 2008 was the first vintage made under his watch.
Lisa Perrotti Brown is Singapore's only Master of Wine and one of just 280 MWs in the world. Her career began in the UK and she worked in various sales and marketing roles there until she moved to Tokyo, Japan in 2002. Lisa writes for Robert Parker's website eRobertParker.com as the Asian wine correspondent and is a reviewer for the Wine Advocate covering the wines of Australia and New Zealand. (See Profile as attached.)
